Brian Tang, PE

Project Engineer

A licensed Professional Engineer (MN), Brian combines a detailed, in-depth understanding of technical requirements and design considerations with a practical, holistic outlook. Having started his career as a planner with a background in grassroots activism and urban ecology, Brian came to Toole Design in 2016, embracing our multidisciplinary, collaborative approach. Brian co-chairs the company’s Inclusive Design Resource Group, helping to ensure a continuous, two-way exchange between the construction and maintenance of built infrastructure and the practical experience of people who rely on it. Adept across a wide range of software packages, ambidextrous between both Bentley and Autodesk CADD platforms, and experienced in all stages of design from concept development to delivery of construction documents, Brian can fill many roles, but he brings a particular talent and enthusiasm for resolving complicated design puzzles. Brian entered the transportation world as a high schooler, serving as Youth Representative on the Citizens’ Advisory Committee of his local transit agency, though his ardor for rail and bus networks has since been eclipsed by the joyous freedom of pedaling.

Brian lives a car-free lifestyle. With an unending impulse to explore and map new routes, Brian bikes for transportation, health, recreation, travel, and adventure.
