Eric Mongelli is a professional engineer with over 25 years of experience managing a broad variety of complex transportation projects, from interstate highways to urban street design. As the Director of Engineering for Toole Design, Eric has been instrumental in building the firm’s traffic and transportation capabilities into a thriving practice with an outstanding national reputation.
The hallmark of Eric’s work is a creative approach to complete streets design, while maintaining a solid focus on user safety and comfort. His projects have ranged from road diets to complex urban streetscape retrofits and multi-use trail designs. Eric is an extremely thorough project manager with experience managing large, multi-disciplined teams and taking projects through their full evolution including planning, environmental analysis, design, right-of-way acquisition and construction. Eric served as the lead engineer for the 2012 edition of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities.
Outside of the office, Eric spends time with his wife and three children.
