Genest Landry, PE

Genest, an licensed engineer and project management professional, is Toole Design’s Austin Office Director. Prior to joining Toole Design, Genest led a team of cross-disciplinary project managers at the City of Austin where she was involved in all aspects of project delivery. She began her career as a structural design engineer before moving on to project management and from this experience has the unique ability to be very detail focused while still seeing the 10,000-foot view. Genest is experienced in structural bridge design from multi-level interchanges to single span pedestrian bridges, roadway reconstruction, contract review, CAMPO administered funding requirements, stakeholder and community engagement, constructability reviews, public outreach, assembly of construction documents, and contractor disputes and mediation. Genest has worked extensively on urban trails projects in the City of Austin.

Genest passionately believes that one should be an active participant in shaping their community. She is an ASCE member and has served on the board of the Austin Branch for the past four years. She most recently has joined the non-profit organization Foundation Communities as a financial coach and serves as co-chairperson of her neighborhood organization. Previously, Genest served as a mentor for Explore Austin and GirlStart.

Outside of work, Genest enjoys being in constant motion with her husband, two young children and miscellaneous foster pets.
