Greta Alquist, AICP
Greta Alquist, AICP is a senior planner in Toole Design’s Minneapolis office, where she works on projects that create healthy transportation options for people in cities and towns. She has overseen everything from nonprofit strategic planning processes to statewide network investment plans involving complex stakeholder dynamics. Greta regularly teams with our GIS analysts to take data-driven approaches in her projects, steering analyses toward innovation to respond to specific community needs. She is one of our experts in community engagement, where she employs thoughtful and strategic methods and coaches her colleagues on how to do the same.
Before joining us, Greta worked at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), where she managed statewide planning and policy initiatives, worked on urban and rural infrastructure projects, and facilitated partnerships between health and transportation. She worked in Greater Minnesota on local infrastructure projects and at the Minnesota Department of Health on building knowledge and capacity among practitioners to strengthen the relationship between health and the built environment.
Originally from Maine, Greta enjoys science fiction, travel, camping, and almost any activity on the water – even when frozen.
