Jennifer Hefferan, PLA
Senior Landscape Architect
Jennifer Hefferan is a senior landscape architect in Toole Design’s Madison office, with nearly two decades of experience applying her landscape architecture and urban design expertise to transportation projects. She is skilled in both planning and design and has experience applying real-world design principles to planning projects. She is an expert in pedestrian crosswalk safety, and understands the operational characteristics of pedestrians and bicyclists and physical roadway design characteristics. Jennifer spent eight years as the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Coordinator for the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT), overseeing a variety of engineering, education, enforcement, and encouragement projects. She also served as president of the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals from 2012 through 2014.
When not working, Jennifer enjoys going for hikes and bike rides and playing the ukulele.
