Lydia Hausle, AICP

Senior Planner | Associate

Lydia is a Senior Planner in Toole Design’s Boston Office. Lydia is passionate about creating policy and built environments that make it safer and more accessible, convenient, and affordable for people to get around their communities using sustainable modes of transportation. Though her focus is on multimodal transportation, Lydia approaches projects with an inherent commitment to explore and incorporate a community’s land use, social justice, economic, and climate contexts as they intersect with mobility.

In her time with Toole Design, Lydia has led and contributed to a wide range of transportation planning and design projects. She has managed and produced multimodal plans ranging from the campus to the city to the statewide scales. She has developed multimodal design guides, parking plans, full-depth corridor reconstruction projects, rapid implementation projects, temporary demonstrations, and many projects in between. As a design-minded planner, Lydia enjoys building strong partnerships with municipalities and the public to help them move from the planning phase directly into the capacity building and implementation phases. Prior to joining Toole Design, Lydia worked for several years in private development and has worked directly with local, state, and federal agencies to shepherd development projects through public review and permitting processes from initial concept to building permit.

Lydia is also a competitive road and cyclocross racer, a race director, and team organizer for numerous cycling organizations in the Boston area.
