Michael Blau, AICP
Senior Planner
Michael Blau is a planner based in New York City, working primarily with Toole Design’s Boston office. He has more than ten years of experience in active transportation, helping communities plan for healthier and safer built environments. His interdisciplinary background in city planning, public health, and social justice brings a unique lens to his work . He has worked with local, regional, and state governments; research institutes; non-profits; and community groups on active transportation projects. His skills include graphic design, public engagement, technical writing, and geospatial mapping and analysis. Michael has managed and participated in the development of Complete Streets plans, bicycle and pedestrian master plans, corridor studies, traffic calming plans, safety studies, autonomous vehicle planning, and active transportation trainings.
When Michael is not on his bike, you can find him rock climbing, reading history books, and baking bread.
