Michael Hintze, AICP, LEED AP
Director of Planning, Seattle
Michael is the Director of Planning in Toole Design’s Seattle Office. As a skilled project manager and technical planner, Michael works at the intersection of land use, transportation, and public policy to help communities plan and implement transportation networks that equitably and sustainably meet the needs of all people. Michael works across the U.S. with local, regional, state, and federal agencies and finds inspiration from collaborating with these partners to solve the significant road safety, equity, and climate change challenges many communities are facing. In addition to his on-the-ground planning work, Michael regularly contributes to national best practice guidance published by FHWA, NCHRP, and NHTSA to advance active transportation planning and design practices.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys building stuff, gardening, trying to play the ukulele, and outdoor adventures with his wife and three children.
