Patrick Gilster, AICP
Project Planner | Associate
Patrick Gilster is a project planner with Toole Design’s Oakland office. He has experience in both public and private sector land use and transportation planning with projects in rural, suburban, urban, and regional settings throughout California. Patrick is passionate about collaborating with clients to create accessible, family-friendly bicycle and pedestrian networks that meet the needs of all transportation system users. He is an active project manager on bicycle and pedestrian master plans, Safe Routes to School projects, trail feasibility studies, transportation impact studies, bicycle and pedestrian safety assessments, parking management plans, and transportation demand management plans. Patrick excels at customizing community involvement for every plan by tailoring outreach strategies to effectively reach people where they are and encouraging those who can’t attend in-person events to participate through digital platforms.
When not in the office, Patrick enjoys spending time with his family, taking his Corgi on long hikes, exploring new restaurants, scuba diving, and traveling to new places around the world.
