At Toole Design, our paid internship program is designed to give you real experience with meaningful work. During the program, typically 8–12 weeks, you’ll be fully embedded in project teams alongside planners, engineers, and landscape architects — contributing to projects from day one. Whether it’s preparing graphics for a new intersection design, analyzing pedestrian survey data, or developing materials for a public meeting, you’ll gain hands-on experience in multimodal transportation.

This internship gives you ample opportunity to build technical skills and much more. You’ll explore your interests, share ideas, and learn from industry leaders. We value diverse perspectives and want your voice at the table. Interns form a community across our offices, learning from each other and collaborating on shared projects. Check out our recap of the 2025 internship program.

All Toole Design offices are bikeable, walkable, and transit-friendly — just like the infrastructure we help design. You’ll work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment that supports your growth while helping shape the places people move through every day. And of course, all internships are paid, because your time and talent are valuable.
