On May 13th, Melany Alliston-Brick, P.E., TDG’s Deputy Director of Engineering,, attended a Champions of Change event at the White House. Every year, The White House honors local heroes who are Champions of Change for their exemplary leadership to ensure that transportation facilities, services, and jobs help individuals and their communities connect to twenty-first century opportunities. Melany is the current president of Women’s Transportation Seminar’s District of Columbia Chapter (WTS-DC). WTS is an international organization dedicated to advancing women in transportation through mentoring and network support. Melany and her WTS-DC colleagues were invited to attend this event as part of the Champions of Change focus on “Connecting Transportation and Ladders of Opportunity.” Melany’s predecessor, past WTS-DC Chapter President Greer Gillis was one of the eleven Champions honored at this year’s event.
