Shannon Hake
Oakland Office Director
Shannon is the Office Director of Toole Design’s Oakland office. She has spent her 20-year planning career helping cities across the country make streets safer for the most vulnerable road users. Shannon created San Francisco’s Slow Streets Program, building and making permanent a network of streets prioritized for active transportation, and San Francisco’s Speed Safety Camera Program, rolling out the first such cameras in the State of California. She develops and builds active transportation plans and speed management strategies, and is guided by the Safe System approach.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys traveling to new cities and countries with her husband and daughter, and collecting (legally acquired) traffic signs from around the world.
