Susannah Barton

Susannah previously worked with the City of Memphis as the Administrator of the Office of Comprehensive Planning, where she was responsible for directing the implementation of the City’s comprehensive plan. Susannah oversaw the investment of nearly $75M in Memphis neighborhoods through the Accelerate Memphis initiative aimed at facilitating catalytic projects. Prior to her work at the city, Susannah was Director of the Quality Public Spaces program at the Memphis Medical District Collaborative, a community development organization focused on strengthening the communities between and around the major medical, educational, and research anchor institutions.

Outside of the office, Susannah enjoys traveling to new cities and countries, exploring places on foot and by bike. She also enjoys gardening with her husband, playing with her two rescue dogs, and perusing a good farmers’ market.
