Climate Resiliency/TDM Practice Lead
Thom specializes in sustainable travel, travel behavior change, carbon emission reduction initiatives, and reducing transportation-related climate impacts. His career has focused on raising the understanding of transportation options on a community’s well-being, its impact on a region’s resiliency, and delivering a suite of mitigation options tailored to their population’s values, needs, and budget. He has served as the Principle-in-Charge and/or Project Advisor for numerous high-profile TDM programs at the state, regional and local government levels. These include CTrides in Connecticut, Georgia Commute Options, Commuter Services of Pennsylvania, Club Ride in Las Vegas, Go Maine, Go Vermont, and Safe Routes to School Outreach/Education projects in Massachusetts and Georgia. Additional previous clients include global corporations, state departments of transportation, regional transportation agencies, counties, cities, and nonprofit organizations. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Association for Commuter Transportation.
In his free time, Thom enjoys road and mountain bike riding, and volunteers at the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association, building and maintaining shared use trails in the Atlanta metro area.
