Project Summary
Connected and autonomous vehicle technology is on the horizon, and this project helped establish Maryland as a leader in testing and implementation. Our work will be used to shape how connected and autonomous vehicles enter into the overall transportation system. Working under the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Commission on Climate Change, Toole Design researched the implications of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles for people walking and bicycling, and produced a policy briefing that recommends actions to ensure safety and a higher quality of life for all road users in Maryland.
