Project Summary

Streets Illustrated, a 10-year update of the City of Seattle’s Right-of-Way Improvement Manual, lays out a graphic vision of how Seattle’s streets should look and function, accompanied by straightforward standards for developing and using the public right-of-way. We worked closely with the Seattle Department of Transportation to make sure the graphics and text provide clear, practical guidance for developers, designers, engineers, and community advocates alike. With its engaging visuals and interactive web format, Streets Illustrated is often heralded as one of the best street design manuals in the United States.
