Mobile Downtown Non-Motorized Mobility Study

Mobile, AL

TDG analyzed streets and intersections to develop plans to improve the walkability and bikeability of downtown Mobile with an emphasis on reclaiming the street grid. A major component of the study was the Broad Street Corridor Evaluation, which included a Synchro/SimTraffic evaluation of the signalized intersections along the corridor. Changes to signal timings were recommended to significantly improve intersection efficiency. As a result, TDG was able to recommend a plan to reduce Broad Street’s cross section, improve pedestrian and bicycle connections, and calm and aesthetically enhance the corridor.
