Project Summary

When Cupertino, California needed help updating their streets to work for all modes, they asked Toole Design for help. Our team started work with Stevens Creek Boulevard, a major east-west surface street in Cupertino, and a key multimodal corridor serving the community.  We worked with the City and local stakeholders to rapidly develop conceptual designs for separated bike lanes and protected intersections, with an emphasis on serving people of all ages and abilities. We paid special attention to preventing turning conflicts between motorists, pedestrians, and people on bikes at complex intersections.
