There is only one time and place to properly celebrate Toole Design’s 15th anniversary, and unveil a new look for the company: the Walk Bike Places (WBP) conference, happening this week in New Orleans.
The conference draws hundreds of the most thoughtful, committed, and capable people in North America who are engaged in the transformation of our communities to more walkable, bike-friendly, transit-oriented, forward-looking and livable places built for all.
A dozen Toole Design staff will be at the conference, presenting on every aspect of that transformative work – from painstaking research to rapid build projects; from the detail of accessible design to planning for autonomous vehicles; and from bikeshare to bike network analysis. They will be sharing their expertise in reducing vehicle speeds, addressing inequality, and designing streets for the 21st century. And on the final day, Jennifer Toole leads a half-day session on the proposed update to the AASHTO Guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities.

APBP continues to be an important resource for our staff (and clients) and their professional development – which made it even more rewarding to see Gwen Shaw recognized by her peers at the annual meeting as apbp’s Young Professional of the Year. As soon as Walk Bike Places 2018 comes to a close, we’ll be looking forward to the 2019 apbp Professional Development Seminar in Portland, OR August 25-28, 2019.
