New Mobility, Bikeshare, and Micromobility

New Mobility describes new and emerging mobility options that leverage internet connectivity, electrification, and sharing models, including carshare, ride-hailing services (e.g., Uber and Lyft), bikeshare and shared micromobility, e-bikes, EVs, connected and autonomous vehicles, microtransit, and more.

Toole Design experts have been leaders in New Mobility planning and engineering for over a decade, working with over 100 communities on a wide variety of New Mobility modes. Since 2019, we have worked with the North American Bikeshare & Scootershare Association (NABSA) every year to develop and update their Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report.

Our team stays at the forefront of the industry in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities, including e-bike safety, battery charging, and bikeshare station electrification. We provide support across the full lifespan of New Mobility programs, from planning to implementation, including:

• Providing strategic guidance on business models, procurement, and governance
• Planning and designing stations, charging locations, and mobility hubs
• Evaluating program outcomes and developing expansion plans
