David Shipps, AICP

David Shipps, AICP is Toole Design’s Columbus Office Director. He has nearly two decades of experience in the transportation sector, primarily focusing on multimodal planning projects and supporting active transportation in Ohio and surrounding states. David has worked hand in hand with the program manager and district coordinators of Ohio’s Safe Routes to School (SRTS) and Active Transportation programs; he has overseen the development and update of the school travel planning (STP) process, the creation of the collaborative Large District STP process, and the conception of the Ohio Safe Routes Academy, which offers complimentary training options for local communities. David is also a trainer with the National Center for SRTS and serves on the programming committee for the Ohio Transportation and Engineering Conference.

Outside of work, you’ll find David gardening or exploring something new with his wife and two boys. During the summer, he releases his competitive juices by coaching and playing baseball.
