We are thrilled to announce that Andrea Ostrodka is joining our firm as both our national Transit Practice Lead and our Central Florida Office Director!
We’re stepping up our transit practice
Reliable transit service is a crucial part of building a safe, sustainable transportation system, and because Toole Design has always been committed to building a human-centered transportation system, we have a unique understanding of the role that transit plays in people’s lives. Toole Design’s transit portfolio has been steadily expanding in recent years, including everything from transit lane/corridor design to first-/last-mile connections and bicycle parking at stations, station wayfinding, crossings along transit corridors, and bus stop siting and design. Andrea’s leadership will catalyze our transit work and expand our capabilities to include transit system planning, demand analysis, transit system policy and operations, and more.
Andrea’s experience includes serving as Director of Planning and Development at the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) and as a Senior Project Manager at H.W. Lochner, where she led BRT design for the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority and the SunRail Transition Analysis for the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission. She understands how to implement a high-quality, equitable transit service at the regional level, and her role will allow us to fully leverage the skills of the many staff who arrived at Toole Design with backgrounds and skills in transit.
“Our clients increasingly expect active transportation projects to incorporate transit, and vice versa,” notes Toole Design CEO Jennifer Toole. “Andrea’s track record of initiating and expanding transit services in Central Florida gives her a unique perspective on integrating modes and creating a truly seamless transportation system that serves the customer first.”
We’re also expanding in Florida
Beyond expanding our transit practice, Andrea will build Toole Design’s Florida portfolio and staff, a role that she also performed as H.W. Lochner’s Orlando Office Manager. She joins Ian Lockwood, who will continue his nationally focused work on freeway tear-downs, small town revitalizations, and other innovative and transformative livability projects from our Central Florida office!
Andrea’s impressive portfolio and commitment to building diverse, thriving communities, matches perfectly with our values. We are delighted to welcome her to the team, and we encourage you to reach out to her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
