Paul is a traffic engineer with more than 13 years of experience leading multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, and Complete Streets initiatives in California. As former Long Beach City Traffic Engineer, he managed transportation programs and capital improvement projects that improved safety, mobility, accessibility, and quality of life while balancing the needs of diverse community stakeholders. His experience includes roadway and intersection design, traffic calming, active transportation infrastructure, development review, transportation impact analysis, and implementation of Vision Zero strategies. Paul has led multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, permitting, community engagement, grant development, and policy implementation, delivering innovative transportation solutions that support sustainable, people-centered communities.
Paul and his wife enjoy camping in National Parks and beaches, and he coaches their three kids’ teams in soccer, football, and baseball, shuttling sports equipment across town in the family cargo bike.
