Project Summary
Ames, IA is challenging itself to think big when it comes to safer streets and with our help they are now moving in a new direction. We created a new Complete Streets policy framework for decisions about street designs that emphasizes the comfort and safety of all users over motor vehicle convenience. Our work has helped increase the transparency of the City’s street design decision-making and elevated conversations with the public to build trust and align expectations so that solutions are clear and understood. The result? A clear process for delivering streets that work for everyone.
