Project Summary

Toole Design worked with the City of Bellevue to review the City’s process for low impact development (LID) implementation, update existing standard details, and develop new standard LID details for the right-of-way. The new LID details will help guide the design of the LID facilities in the public right-of-way and create more uniform facilities that are easier to maintain. The LID details were coordinated closely with development services, utilities, and transportation staff who are responsible for capital project implementation, private development permit approval, and operations and maintenance.

We developed a flow chart to guide designers on when to review potential LID opportunities for projects within the right-of-way. The flow chart is intended for City project managers and development review staff, as well as architects, engineers, planners, developers, and other consultants engaged in designs.

Our standard details are intended for use by the City of Bellevue's staff as well as design consultants.
