Project Summary

To make bicycling a reliable mode of transportation between Colorado State University’s three distinct campuses, the University called in the experts. Toole Design Group developed a plan to help increase bicycling on and between CSU’s three campuses, as part of the 2014 Bicycle Plan adopted by the University’s home city of Fort Collins, CO. This master plan helped CSU maintain its status as one of only five Platinum-level Bicycle Friendly Universities recognized by the League of American Bicyclists, and has helped them add new bikeways, bicycle counters, and lot of new bike parking. By integrating bicycling across their facilities, bicycling has increased at CSU. During a 2017 football game, CSU counted 2,700 bikes on the main campus, not including those parked at residence halls.
