Country Club Road Corridor Study
Spartanburg, SC
Project Summary
Two of Spartanburg SC’s most popular recreational attractions, the Mary Black Rail Trail and Glendale Shoals Preserve, are connected by the rural/suburban Country Club Road. Toole Design helped the city transform this corridor into a street that anyone can use comfortably. Through an extensive public outreach process, we created a design that fits the local context, introducing separated bike lanes, sidewalks, and shared use paths. South Carolina’s Department of Transportation is currently working on implementing our recommendations.
