Project Summary
Toole Design is helping San Jose develop an emerging mobility plan that establishes equity as a priority. We are leading data collection efforts to understand emerging mobility through a racial equity lens. We are creating a suite of maps that illustrate the geographic effects of negative externalities of the transportation system as well as access benefits. We are also conducting a demographic analysis to determine disparate impacts on key populations.
The result will be a plan that focuses on historically marginalized communities and identifies the most effective ways to offer new mobility services and technologies to all residents.

We created a map to track the deployment of micromobility access.
By overlaying the transportation facilities by population groups, our team is able to identify inequities in the transportation system.
