NCHRP 803 Pedestrian and Bicycle Transportation Along Existing Roads

TDG completed a three year project for the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) to develop a national model to be used to evaluate facility needs for pedestrians and bicyclists on existing roadways and prioritize improvements using a variety of criteria. The primary goal of the project was to develop a methodology that prioritizes the planning, funding, construction and maintenance of pedestrian and bicycle facilities. TDG performed pilot tests of the methodology with transportation agencies around the country, including state departments of transportation, municipalities, counties and metropolitan planning organizations.
