Ernest Boughman, III, AICP
Interim Chief Financial Officer | Owner
Ernest “Ernie” Boughman, III, AICP is Director of Operations for Toole Design’s presence in the Southeastern United States. His work has enabled local communities and various state DOTs to expand their perspective of what streets can and should be—multimodal public spaces that embrace community values and enhance quality of place. He has provided leadership for the planning and design of transportation facilities that increase the safety, comfort, and convenience of people driving cars, riding bikes, walking, and using transit, enabling people of all ages and abilities to harmoniously travel together. Ernie often provides instruction on the intersection between context-sensitive solutions and Complete Streets. He is a past President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Planning Association, and a former member of Toole Design’s Board of Directors.
Giving of time, talent, and treasure is a high priority for Ernie and his family. His daughter is a leukemia survivor, and he both works to make the Light The Night Walk a success each year and serves in leadership positions at the state and national level in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
