Inclusive Design and ADA
Transportation systems should serve everyone regardless of age or ability. At Toole Design, we apply this principle by integrating an inclusive design approach into everything we do.
At the heart of that approach is the effective engagement of people with disabilities and other marginalized groups. We lead public meetings, focus groups, surveys, and pilot demonstrations, as well as trainings on ADAAG, PROWAG, and other national-level accessibility guidance. However, we also recognize that existing national-level guidance is not comprehensive. As such, we strive to always be at the cutting edge and ensure that all our designs — from bus stops to sidewalks to shared-use paths — result in the most accessible and inclusive solutions possible.
