Toole Design Welcomes Eight Additional Owners

As Toole Design continues to grow, we’re excited to welcome eight additional owners: Erica Guidoboni, Nan Jiang, Kate Maker, Cipriana Patterson, Ben Sigrist, Addie Weber, Adam Wood, and Cindy Zerger. 

These long-serving team members have played key roles in the firm’s success through demonstrated leadership and vision. As they join the ownership group, they will help shape Toole Design’s continued growth and impact. Read on to learn more about our newest owners.

Erica Guidoboni

Erica Guidoboni, PE, ENV SP is the Director of Engineering for Toole Design’s Northeast region, where she brings a people-centered approach to both team leadership and municipal client service. She is a strong advocate for investing in the next generation of leaders, viewing their growth as essential to the firm’s collective future. This people-first mindset also shapes her project work, where she emphasizes contextual design that reflects and serves the surrounding community. Erica is committed to achieving modal balance, working to expand transportation options for people across all types of neighborhoods. In her capacity as an owner, Erica will continue to strengthen the firm’s engineering practice in the Northeast.

Nan Jiang

Nan Jiang, PhD, PE, PMP, RSP1 is Toole Design’s Data Science Practice Lead, providing national leadership in advancing data-driven approaches to transportation planning and engineering. Since joining the firm in 2022, Nan has led a range of regional projects and national research efforts, applying expertise in statistical modeling, safety analysis, and multimodal network analysis to support more effective and connected transportation systems. As an owner, Nan will continue to grow Toole Design’s data science practice, building an industry-leading team and advancing innovative research in multimodal transportation and data-driven analysis.

Kate Maker, PE serves as Toole Design’s Civil Engineering Practice Lead. Since joining the firm in 2022, she has played a key role in growing the civil engineering practice through a balance of deep technical expertise and strategic leadership. A thoughtful and detail-oriented leader, Kate is passionate about developing systems and resources that work together to support staff, improve efficiency, and deliver high-quality, reproduceable results for communities of all sizes. As an owner, Kate will continue to advance the firm’s approach to civil engineering projects.

Cipriana Patterson

Cipriana Patterson, PE, PTOE, MBA is the Director of Operations for Toole Design’s Mid-Atlantic region. Since joining the firm in 2021, she has led multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices, drawing on her public- and private-sector experience to strengthen project delivery and regional performance. Cipriana is passionate about advancing equity in transportation and ensuring communities are not just heard, but reflected in the outcomes. She is also a dedicated student mentor, helping guide them to careers in this industry. As an owner, Cipriana will continue to create space for and elevate voices that have too often been overlooked, both for team members and in the communities we serve.

Ben Sigrist

Ben Sigrist joined the firm in 2010 and currently serves as Director of Information Technology, leading a team of technical support analysts and system administrators. He brings a strong understanding of staff needs and workflows and partners with our technical and operations teams to improve our processes. Ben has also led firmwide efforts to explore and integrate emerging technologies, including AI, into practice. As an owner, Ben will continue to advance systems and tools that position Toole Design at the forefront of the industry.

Addie Weber

Addie Weber, AICP is the Director of Market Strategy for Toole Design’s South region. She joined the firm in 2017, founding Toole Design’s Atlanta office. As an urban designer with experience around the world, Addie has been instrumental in supporting the growth of urban design within the company. She routinely partners with other Toole Design offices on critical pursuits and urban design efforts. As an owner, Addie will continue to support the growth of the company’s urban design practice and provide critical market strategy for our South region team.

Adam Wood

Adam Wood, AICP leads our Active Transportation Planning Practice. He joined the firm in 2013 and has played a key role in expanding the company’s presence in the Midwest and Texas, leading some of our largest and most complex active transportation planning projects. A trusted advisor and mentor to staff, Adam is a go-to resource for technical planning guidance, project management, and problem solving. In his role as an owner, Adam will continue to invest in developing the next generation of experts, while keeping Toole Design at the forefront of active transportation planning.

Cindy Zerger

Cindy Zerger, PLA, ASLA is the Director of Design at Toole Design. She joined the firm in 2014 and has been integral to growing its portfolio of public realm work, leading projects that range from corridor transformations to district-scale visioning, master planning, and public realm design guidance. Cindy partners with cities and agencies across the country to shape transformative strategies that balance community needs, climate resilience, and economic vitality. As an owner, she will continue to grow and strengthen the firm’s design practice, deepening its integration with the public realm and expanding Toole Design’s impact in shaping meaningful, enduring places.
