Gwen Shaw, PE
Gwen is an engineer in Toole Design’s Portland Office. She brings a background in planning, designing, and implementing temporary demonstration projects for alternative uses of the public space through her volunteer work with Better Block PDX, a local non-profit organization. Her experience includes bikeway design, bikeshare station siting and permitting, pedestrian improvements, and Safe Routes to Schools design and planning. Gwen holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Portland State University. She was the recipient of the 2018 Young Professional of the Year Award from the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP).
Gwen enjoys exploring new parts of her hometown of Portland and dreaming of future vacations around the world. She spent a summer in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2010 and has had a desire for traveling ever since.
